DAINA S. LIEBERMAN (dslieberman{at}fcps.edu; @ITeachThere 4IB) teaches English and coordinates the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program in Fairfax County (Va.) Public Schools. She also was a 2012-13 PDK Emerging Leader. Abstract There are many ways to become a teacher leader. This article lists various methods of leading while remaining in the classroom and how to seek them out. The author illustrates tips with personal experiences, stressing the importance for administrators and current teacher leaders to invite teachers to expand their leadership roles in their schools.
